Second to the last day of the siege
My efforts have been useless
The enemy won’t move,
It just won’t get any better from now on
I feel I’ve lost the battle
All alone I wonder if it’s worth it
Here I sit writing this,
Listening to the humming buzz of an engine
The hinges if barely closed doors, so heavy the wind
hardly moves
But just makes them scream as I once read,
And the noise the cars make accelerating a few yards
away from me
One battle seems almost lost
I’ve given a lot and what not to them
Still I have one more round to go
And then a full force will start picking up
With the mildly pace of two armies
My force and strength are leaving me
I want to leave to scream, to start a new
My book in hand, this paper and “quill”
I wish for the adventure I could not dare
I wish for the forbidden dance I won’t play
I wish I’ve met her, I wish for clarity, I wish I knew
myself
I wish I could what I can’t
I will be what I am, what I was not
From the mind of Cogliostro
